I'm a big comic book fan, I'm always writing references to my favorite movies, comics, and video games.

I love Daredevil. Always been a huge fan. He's a dark, gritty Marvel superhero. One of my favorite comics of Daredevil is "Born Again." The storyline is pretty dope.
Matt Murdock
I'm Matt Murdock, bitch!
I take punches for lunches
Function efficiently doing crunches
Working on my mind and body--call it symmetry before brunch
I suspect I'm killing it with every line--like Scooby Doo I got the hunch
In Madden, guaranteed I'm puttin' fifty on you from the bunch
References to what I love and what I do
I wrote this when I was obsessed with Daredevil. Shortly after the Netflix show came out, I rekindled my love for the superhero. I dove into all the major storylines. The one in particular that stood out to me was Born Again. This dude gets his ass kicked and always gets back up! He's got the spirit of a warrior...he is a warrior.
I wanted to incorporate that spirit into these lines. I workout 4-5 times a week, I take that shit seriously. I'm actually pretty big into running and am always working on my core game. Naturally I had to get a line in there about doing some crunches. Come on fam!
I'm also very passionate about meditation. I've always been into it, and practiced on and off for quite some time. However, I really began doing it ritualistically, every day, since last July. I've made sure that I have something that I do as a ritual every day, and I figured if I can't even breathe for ten minutes a day, then something's wrong.
Slowly I'm trying to incorporate more into my daily routine.
I'm a big fan of witty lines, and for some reason, Scooby Doo came to the forefront of my brain. I grew up with Scooby Doo. That was my jam as a kid. I had to bring in some old school references. When I was writing the lines, it just came to me. I was thinking of what the hell would make any sense to rhyme with "brunch." Luckily, I had some Scooby snacks in my back pocket for that one.
Last but not least, I'm a huge fan of football. I grew up playing Madden with my friends. Although it's now an infuriating mess of a video game, I'm still a pretty decent player. I use the bunch formation a good amount when I play, so this was, more than anything, a reference and shout out to the NFL and Madden. And how I can put up a fifty burger on you if I need to ;)
